When you replace your PC, deactivate Windows on the old machine (Settings › Activation), install Windows on the new machine, sign in with your Microsoft account, and your Windows 10 Home reactivates. The license travels with you, not with the motherboard.
Is this OEM or retail? What’s the difference?
Retail FPP — tied to your Microsoft account, transferable to new hardware. OEM — tied to the motherboard that first activated it; when that hardware dies, so does your license. The cheap $10–$15 keys on grey-market sites are OEM keys pulled from decommissioned machines. They work — until the activation server flags them, or until you replace your hardware.
